Globeducate student promises and messages will feature at #UK COP26 – the 26th UN Climate Change Conference hosted by Glasgow, UK, in partnership with Italy.
Through Globeducate´s unique partnership with WWF-UK, our students were invited to contribute “promise leaves” to hang on a WWF Tree of Promises, occupying centre-stage in the Blue Zone of the COP26 Glasgow event.
The WWF Tree of Promises will be on view to United Nations delegates between 31st October and 12th November. This zone will be the scene of historic negotiations between those with the power to accelerate action towards the goals of the Paris Agreement and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
The tree´s leaves display promises from our students, and broadcast in the same space will be student-directed short films from three Globeducate schools – ISN Nice, Nobel Algarve British International School and Agora Portals International School. These messages of hope are directed at the decision makers of our planet´s future.
Also being showcased is the Globeducate manifesto film️, explaining our commitment to shaping the world for a more sustainable planet and fairer future. To see this 3-minute film and to find out more about our Globeducate Agenda, you can read more here.
Being invited to be part of this global event, critical for the future of our planet and future generations, is not only proof that we are doing the right things. It is also evidence that we are doing things right. Our students have a voice. And they can, and will, Shape the World.
