We are delighted to welcome Mel Curtis to Globeducate as our new Directrice Générale / Director General for ISN Nice.

Mel has enjoyed a varied career in education, spanning more than 30 years, and has been a teacher, Principal and Chief Education Officer across Europe, the Middle East, and North America. She has led a number of dynamic, outstanding community schools.

Mel has moved to Nice from her most recent leadership roles with Nord Anglia Education as Principal in Switzerland, Czech Republic, and before that, in the USA.  Prior to this, as GEMS Chief Academic Officer for Europe, she was based in Switzerland and was responsible for all academic processes, curriculum development, teacher training, innovating learning spaces, and recruitment. With extensive experience of a wide range of curricula, and specialising in the IB, she managed the acquisition and introduction of an International Pedagogy in teaching and learning (IB) with the French Bac and FLE at École des Roches in France.

Whilst in the Middle East, Mel led the first 3 to 19 school in Dubai to be awarded “Outstanding” by the external inspection team. The team secured this rating for three years under her tenure.

Mel prides herself in recruiting and empowering high-functioning teams who work with students to secure outstanding internal and external results both in Primary, IGCSE and IBDP.

“In my experience, being part of a successful education group brings not only the insights and knowledge to innovate, improve and grow the business, it is also a place where we can support and nurture colleagues and, in these current times, with extra unforeseen and disruptive pressures, that is an added, and needed bonus. I’m looking forward therefore to being part of the Globeducate team, getting to know my new colleagues, collaborating and sharing great practice, and building a network of excellent schools,” she says.

We are looking forward to Mel playing a key role in the Globeducate team and to seeing the development of ISN Nice under her leadership.
